Drink drugs and licence bans 13 people convicted of motor related crimes
MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted twice driving whilst banned and having no insurance. Connor Dickinson, aged 22, of Empire Road, Bolton, committed the offences when driving a VW Bora on Waterloo Street, Bolton, on May 30 and then again, driving a Seat Ibiza on Charles Street, Bolton, on August 15. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and, as well as the unpaid work, must participate in 40 days of rehabilitation activities. Dickinson was banned from applying for a driving licence for two years.
A MAN has been banned from driving for six months after he was found to be over the alcohol limit while in charge of a car. John Hart, aged 60, of Ivy Road, Bolton, admitted committing the offence in a Seat Leon in Back Kylemore Avenue, Bolton, on September 12. He was fined £80.
A WOMAN riding in a Ford Transit van has been fined £220 by magistrates after she was caught not wearing a seat belt. The court found the case against Shauna Powell, aged 29, of Cedar Grove, Farnworth, proved. She had committed the offence on February 28 on Rochdale Road, Bury.
TWO men have been fined £660 each by magistrates after they failed to identify drivers suspected of committing offences, to police. Ali Afghan, aged 26, of Salisbury Street, Bolton, did not name the driver of a BMW to police on February 28 and Salim Arshad, aged 28, of West Avenue, Farnworth, failed to identify an Audi A7 driver on February 24.
A TEENAGER was caught driving a Vauxhall Combo van on Green Bank, Bolton, on March 2 without a licence or insurance. Josh Hopwood, aged 18, of Arnesby Grove, Bolton, was fined £660 and eight penalty points were added to his driving record.
A VAN driver who had drunk almost four times the legal alcohol limit has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. Peter Evans, aged 33, of Sunny Garth, Westhoughton, was driving a Peugeot Boxer van on August 26 and had 136mcg of alcohol 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 30 months and must participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities
A WOMAN caught drug driving on the M61 had been using cannabis. Carley Doddy, aged 30, of Singleton Avenue, Horwich, was driving a VW Golf on the motorway on December 10 last year. She was fined £80 and banned from driving for 12 months.
A BMW driver who had been using cannabis, has been banned from the roads for 12 months. James OâConnor, aged 20, of Bolton Road, Kearsley, was caught drug driving in Mossfield Road, Bolton, on November 7 last year. In addition to the driving ban, he was fined £415.
A MERCEDES driver has been banned from the roads for 15 months after he was caught drink-driving in Cleggs Lane, Bolton, on May 3. Michael Daly, aged 44, of Hallview Way, Worsley, was fined £500.
A WOMAN who stole a BMW and drove it while banned from holding a licence has been jailed for 28 weeks. Natalie Kopman, aged 36, of Charter Avenue, Radcliffe, was already subject to a suspended prison sentence when she took the BMW 3 series on June 11 and was caught driving it on Wellington Road, Bury. When stopped she failed to provide police with a breath sample. She also admitted assaulting a police officer in Bury on August 16.
A VAN driver has been banned from holding a licence for 12 months after he was found to be over the alcohol limit. Ola Dawd, aged 46, of Pengwern Avenue, Bolton, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Pengwern Avenue on August 22. He was fined £400.
A MOTORIST has been banned from driving for six months after he was twice caught driving without insurance. Jack Bates, aged 30, of Coleridge Avenue, Radcliffe, drove a Corsa on Coronation Road, Radcliffe, on New Yearâs Eve and again on Spenser Avenue, Radcliffe on May 6. He was fined £240.
