Bolton leader with Andy Burnham unveil levelling up plans

The leader of Bolton Council joined the Mayor of Greater Manchester on Saturday to unveil the region's 'Levelling up Deal'.

Cllr Martyn Cox joined with Andy Burnham and Lou Cordwell OBE, chair of the GM Local Enterprise Partnership, on Saturday in Manchester City Centre to outline the region's plans for 'levelling up'.

This includes creating a 'London-style' transport network, called Bee Network, for more affordable fares.

Mr Burnham is asking for more powers and funding from the government for a levelling up deal to deliver this transport system as well as create more places to live, work and set up a business, create opportunities for people to retrain and gain skills for new jobs and to create a 'golden triangle' within the towns and cities of the North, to drive UK growth within the towns and cities of the North, to drive UK growth, according to the Mayor.

This week GM will make a serious, positive offer to Government with our Levelling Up Deal.
