  • Check out these seven goals!

Here’s some of the social media reaction to Essendon’s win.

    Western Bulldogs 3.3, 6.5, 8.11, 12.12 (84)

    Essendon Bombers 1.2, 7.2, 11.4, 15.7 (97)

Analysis: Peter Wright kicks 7.0 and the Bombers kick 15 goals from just 39 inside-50s. That’s about the game in a nutshell. The Dogs had 60 inside-50s yet couldn’t overcome the spirited Dons. In the end, the Bombers smashed the Dogs in clearances, 47-31. We await news on Josh Bruce, however, who looks to have hurt himself in the dying seconds of that game.

Goals: Wright (7), Josh Bruce (3), Aaron Francis (2)

Leading disposals: Jack Macrae (38), Marcus Bontempelli (34), Zach Merrett (30), Darcy Parish (28), Bailey Williams (24)

Intercepts: Jayden Laverde (9), Jordan Ridley (8), Josh Schache (8), Bailey Williams (8)

It’s now 13 points with less than 60 seconds on the clock.

What a game it’s been from the Bombers, after trailing by 12 at quarter-time. Peter Wright has been the man of the moment with seven majors.

    Dogs 12.12 (84), Bombers 15.7 (97)

The margin is an even two goals...

Jake Stringer won a holding the man free kick at the centre bounce and went forward.

Two minutes left on the clock and Peter Wright has just intercepted a kick across the ground. He’ll line up from 60 metres out...

A big captain’s goal from Marcus Bontempelli brings the margin back to 11 points with 3.12 left on the clock!

This next clearance will be huge.

    Dogs 12.12 (84), Bombers 15.5 (95)

Scores back to 17 points after Josh Bruce marked 10 metres out and goalled.

There’s four minutes left on the clock.

    Dogs 11.12 (78), Bombers 15.5 (95)

Essendon will move to ninth if they win this match, on 36 points with a healthy percentage of 104%.

GWS remain in eighth, half a game ahead on 38 points. Richmond is 10th on 36 points with 100 per cent.

GWS and Richmond meet next week. What a fortnight of footy we have left to define the top eight.

Also note, West Coast, in seventh, sit on 40 points and play the Demons tomorrow. Their percentage is 95.9%.

Well, Peter Wright has maybe not kicked a bigger goal in his career. He’s just landed his sixth goal to give his side an 18-point lead with less than 10 minutes left on the clock.

He’s had just eight touches for his side goals. He landed this one from 55 metres out on a tight angle. His set shot accuracy has been insane today.

And now he’s lining up for his seventh! This could be the match-defining goal...

He comes in from 55m, and puts it straight over the goal umpire’s hat! That’s seven goals!

    Dogs 10.11 (71), Bombers 15.5 (95)
