Night Owl illuminations come to Bolton this week
The enchanting story of the âNight Owlsâ will be told through digital art pieces that will appear on local buildings across the borough.
The illuminations, which were created by Illuminos, will run from Thursday September 16 until September 19 at various locations.
A spokesperson from Illuminos said Bolton residents had previously shared their lullabies with Illuminos, to be brought to life in new projection artworks, in a consultation exercise.
The 10-minute-long video projections will be on a constant loop from 8pm until 9pm.
On Thursday, the Night Owls debut will take place at Horwich District Office. The illuminations are expected to appear on a side wall in Lee Lane. On Friday, the event will take place at St Matthews Church in Little Lever, with a viewing area located in the car park.
Spectators on Saturday night should make their way to Westhoughton Community Hub, where there will be a viewing area in the car park.
On Sunday night, all eyes will be on Farnworth Town Hall, with the designated viewing area located on Rawson Street.
The famous Night Owl can be spotted in Bolton Central Library in the lead up to this weekâs projections.
Rob Vale, from Illuminos, said: âWeâre delighted to have worked on making this series of four projections across Bolton.
âThe Night Owls Lullaby imagines a magical night owl, and her brood of eggs, who are nurtured by lullabies sung out in the dark.
âFeaturing songs and poems sent to us by residents of Bolton, each venue sees a unique artwork made, where the owlets emerge and take flight, as imagery from the lullabies emerges across the buildings.â
Organisers said viewers may be asked to move along after each 10-minute video in order to allow other spectators to see the illuminations at a safe distance.
